" A collection of traditional indicators which have been significantly improved to approach zero lag whilst providing superior smoothing. "
The Bowfort Zero Lag Indicators (BZL) AddOn for Neuroshell provides 15 Near Zero Lag indicators. Two of these indicators are moving average replacements which feature superb smoothing with extremely minimal lag. The remaining nine indicators use these superior smoothers in their calculations to produce
indicators which also have minimal lag and superb smoothing.
The Hull Moving Average is a very fast moving average replacement. It is more responsive than Jurik's JMA of a similar lookback period for most price action.
It can also be used as a price or volume proxy in any other Neuroshell indicator
that uses open, high, low, close or volume to benefit from it's superior smoothing
capabilities. For instance, you could build a Relative Momentum Index (RMI) in Neuroshell using the Hull Moving Average of Close, e.g:
RMI(BZL Hull Moving Average(Close), 5, 5)
The Gaussian Moving Average is an Infinite Impulse Response Filter (IIR) with a configurable number of filter poles which can be used to adjust the amount of lag. This moving average is very responsive and can also be used as a price proxy in the same way as the Hull Moving Average. The Gaussian Moving Average employs a Gaussian Filter Kernel which mimics the gaussian distribution found in many natural systems.
The remaining indicators are indicators that we've found to be useful using the Hull and Gaussian moving averages in their calculations. You can choose which moving average is used for these indicators. Or better still, let the Genetic Algorithm in Neuroshell figure it out. They are considerably smoother than their regular indicator counterparts.
All our indicators have BuiltIn Help integrated into the product.
Here is an comparative screenshot of our Bowfort Zero Lag Moving
Averages and Bowfort Zero Lag RSI:
On the top graph, you can see 3 moving averages.
The red line is the Hull Moving Average. The magenta line is the Gaussian Moving Average and the Yellow line is Jurik's JMA.
All the moving averages have the same lookback periods (9 bars). As you can see the Hull Moving Average has less lag and is faster than Jurik's JMA.
The bottom graphs compare a regular Relative Strength Index of 9 periods, and a Bowfort Zero Lag RSI of 3 periods (the blue line on the middle graph). Note that although we are using only 3 periods in the Bowfort Zero Lag RSI, how much smoother and clearer the signals are that are produced.
